Black.
That was all I could see for a while. The
pain seemed to numb all my senses, moving up slowly till it was everywhere.
Then I opened my eyes and saw Buky. God! She was so happy with Tayo. He was the
only one who ever loved her. He whispered something into her ear but I couldn't
really hear from where I stood but it sounds like he said "I love
you".
His smile seemed to create the warmth that
had eluded her for many years. He had saved her. He was her messiah. She looked
back into his eyes and for a moment they seemed to sparkle. She knew it was
true. So she looked back into his eyes and for a moment they seemed to sparkle
and with a quick breath she said "I love you".
Where was the pain coming from!?
As I opened my eyes Tayo stared back at me
with wild eyes. His fingers jabbed into my arms as he held on tightly. He was
crying but I was too distracted by the bruises on my body. They seemed alive
and throbbed painfully, sapping my energy.
He had done this.
He kept on muttering something. Couldn't
really hear but it sounded like he said "I love you Buky". I looked
into his eyes desperately trying to find that sparkle. It was
there.....somewhere. so slowly slipping again into unconsciousness, i said with
a quick breath "I love you too".
Black.
