BEELOVED FRAGRANCES

BeeLoved fragrances is the love child of the creative perfumer Habibah H. Sanusi. In a yet untapped industry in Nigeria, she has dared to be a forerunner of signature scents from, and in Nigeria. BeeLoved Fragrances which started in the United Kingdom has been in business for six years with its successful flagship fragrance – Beloved, which translates to Habibah in Arabic. The vision of the founder is to create unique and inspired fragrances for its clients. She believes that “scents are the olfactory gateway of our emotions, and emotions are always deeply personal”, and by creating personal fragrances, BeeLoved becomes a part of each client’s life. “I hope to inspire people through the art of scents”, says Habibah, and give people a deeper understanding of how instrumental the sense of smell is in our everyday lives.

With its flagship store opening on the 9th of May, 2015 at the Valley Mall, Wuse 2, Abuja, BeeLoved will be the first store in Abuja to cater to individuals who want to create a scent that is both unique and personal. To achieve this, BeeLoved Fragrances will have consultations with prospective clients and go through what she calls “the process”. Here clients are exposed to a wide array of scents and fragrances which include lavender, bergamot, lilies, musk and so much more. The base scent for BeeLoved is Lavender which the founder says comes from her love for the colour purple.

In addition to the fragrance, BeeLoved Store will also have for sale, leather handbags and wallets for women from the Sienna brand based in Dubai, U.A.E. The motivation of having this franchise is to make real leather goods more available and affordable. According to Habibah, “Anyone who appreciates quality also knows that it does not always have to be ridiculously expensive!”

BeeLoved Fragrances has created a niche in a market that is virgin in Nigeria, and its future is bright with plans to fully industrialize by producing fragrances from scents that are sourced locally. For now, BeeLoved will keep the enthusiastic approach to scents and hopefully draw the attention of Nigerians to the sensory world of smell.
